National Press Institute (NPI) seeks
Executive Director
NPI is an independent Russian non-profit organization that supports Russian
media - particularly regional newspapers - with training, publications,
events, information, and a range of other services. The Executive Director
will manage a staff of 50 at 6 offices throughout Russia.
Job description:
? management of NPI assistance projects;
? representation of NPI among potential partners and funders;
? strategic planning;
? financial management of NPI;
? oversight of NPI fundraising activities;
Qualifications needed:
? 10 years management experience;
? extensive experience in media and/or non-profit sector;
? native Russian language ability and fluent English;
? in-depth knowledge of the media, preferably newspapers;
? commitment to media independence.
Established by New York University in 1992, NPI incorporates a number of
programmatic departments:
? Media Business Development Services;
? School of Journalism and Media Management;
? Center for Cyberjournalism;
? Press Centers;
? Special Projects (such as elections reporting, nuclear reporting, etc.)
The position is available immediately. Salary is commensurate with
